Trolling lures

The modern Williams Dartee sizes and colors were designed as trolling lures. The original Dartees trolling lures date back to 1948 and were a much heavier spoon with riveted mother of pearl which were popular as both casting and trolling lures. The original Dartee trolling lure was taken out of production in 1978 and reintroduced in its' modern day form in 1992, manufactured by Williams.

The Dartee is a baitfish imitation trolling lure, one of the many design forms available in trolling lures. These trolling lures are designed to look like and act like a wounded baitfish. The genuine silver plated finishes add to the visibility of the lure and also imitate the flanks of the majority of forage baitfish. The baitfish survival imprint is to school and stay together. When they all swim together as a ball predators have a difficult time zeroing in on one particular minnow. Being on the outside of the bait ball or being left behind is a very high risk place to be if you are a minnow. The Dartee trolling lure imitates just that a baitfish that has become separated from the ball. The white flash of the silver finish undulates as the lure works through the water and imitates a wounded baitfish triggering a strike response in predatory game fish such as trout, walleye or pike.

We will be impressed on how well our trolling lures work.
